Chaminade 2012 Football Ranked No. 5 in NY State

Flyers finished with 10-1 record with AAA crown to take state sportswriters rankings.

Following one of the most satisfying seasons in recent memory, Chaminade (10-1) was able to capture the AAA CHSFL crown for the first time since 1998 and in the process defeat arch-rival St. Anthony’s (9-3) for the first time in about two decades.

It was the 12th time the Flyers stood atop the CHSFL football world in the history of the school.

In recognition of their achievement, the New York State Sportswriters Associationranked them as No.5  in the state in its final Class AA football rankings, while St. Anthony’s fell to No. 9 due to their 17-16 defeat in the title match.
