‘Meals for Moms’ Highlights Senior Hunger

Congresswoman McCarthy joins TV icons to sign Mother's Day cards for Long Island.

This past Tuesday I participated in the “Meals for Moms” Capitol Hill event – designed to raise awareness, in the days leading up to Mother’s Day of senior hunger, especially as it impacts senior women.

“Meals for Moms” is a campaign of Meals On Wheels Association of America – the oldest and largest national organization composed of and representing local, community-based Senior Nutrition Programs in the United States, with some 5,000 local programs and 2.2 million volunteers throughout the nation.

The “Meals for Moms” event featured two iconic television stars of the legendary prime-time dramas of the 1980s – Linda Evans of “Dynasty” and Linda Gray of “Dallas.”
