On a Visit to Brookhaven and Food Drive

News from Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel.

First Annual Food Drive

I am currently partnering with Long Island Cares to sponsor the first annual “Hearts for Hunger” Food Drive in the 16th Assembly District.

Non-perishable foods, personal care items, baby products, pet food, first aid and school supplies are needed. Please drop off items from February 9 to March 9 at my district office located at 45 North Station Plaza, Suite 203 in Great Neck.

Collection boxes are also available at the Great Neck Senior Center, 80 Grace Ave., the Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Road, and the Port Washington Community Chest, 382 Main St.

If you have any questions please contact my district office at 516-482-6966.

A Visit to Brookhaven National Lab

I recently visited Brookhaven National Lab to learn more about the Lab’s significant impact on the economy on Long Island and New York State as a major science-based enterprise and its mission of research, technology development and education.

Michelle Schimel is the New York State Assembly representative for the 16th Assembly District. She was first elected in a Special Election held on March 27, 2007.
