Dispose of Your Unused or Expired Medication

Nassau County and the have joined the US Drug Enforcement Administration’s nationwide “Take Back Initiative” to help keep unused medications off the street and out of the hands of our children.

If you have any unused or expired medications in your home, please stop by any police precinct on April 28 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to safely and anonymously dispose of old prescription or over-the-counter medications.

Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including the home medicine cabinet.

Additionally, flushing medications down the drain can contaminate our waterways. Your participation can help to keep our environment clean and our children safe.

The Third Precinct is located at 214 Hillside Avenue, Williston Park, NY, 11596. The hours of the drop off will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, please contact Legislator Nicolello’s office at 516-571-6209.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
