Ed Solosky, 48, Kellenberg Athletic Director

Ed Solosky died Tuesday in a tragic accident involving three cars in Delaware. The 1980 graduate of had worked for 20 years at Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale in various capacitities including history teacher, department chair and athletic director, a position he held since 2006.

According to police reports the crash occurred  at approximately 6:42 a.m. and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Even more tragic was the fact that the 48-year-old Solosky was returning home after his aunt’s funeral in Virginia. He is survived by his wife and two children.

A wake will be held on Friday, Feb. 18 from 12 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. in Kellenberg Memorial Auditorium. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 9:30 a.m., also in Kellenberg Memorial Auditorium, with burial to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.

The Solosky family is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a fund established for the benefit of his two children Katie and Lauren. Checks may be made payable to Solosky Children Memorial Fund. Donations may be mailed to:

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
