EAC Network Senior Respite Companion, Betty Ann Pristupa of Williston Park was recently honored as Nassau County Senior Woman of the Year for her outstanding volunteer work.
For seven years, Betty Ann has brought much needed relief to family caregivers who are struggling to care for an aging relative. She visits with the senior at home so that caregivers can take a much needed break. This “time off” gives family caregivers like Antoinete Foppiano, time to relax and enjoy a day at the beach. “ It’s been a godsend to know that Betty Ann was coming to spend some time with my husband. Thanks to her, I was able to join friends at the beach and enjoy activities at the Senior Center .”
