Corpus Christi Parishioners Make Pilgrimage to See New Bishop Installed

Mineola faithful board early morning busses bound for Washington D.C. for installation of Bishop Robert Coyle.

Before the sun arose Thursday morning, a group of parishioners huddled in the parking lot across from the Corpus Christi School in Mineola awaiting two large coach busses.

The group, which totaled about 150 in all, were embarking on their own pilgrimage of sorts, bound for Washington D.C. to see Msgr. Robert Coyle be installed as the new auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of the Military.

While the installation ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, the group plans on returning later tonight. Bishop Coyle will then preside over a final series of masses this weekend, including confirmations on Saturday and his final mass at Corpus Christi on Sunday with a reception following.
