Fox News Host Visits Federalist Society in Mineola

Talk show host Monica Crowley spoke at a Federalist Society event.

“What the (Bleep) Just Happened?” That’s the title of Fox News contributor Monica Crowley’s newest book, which over 125 people gathered at the restaurant in Mineola last Monday as part of a the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies’ Long Island Lawyers chapter event.

“I went to see her speak at the Women’s National Republican Club three or four weeks ago,” said Michael Zummo, president of the chapter. “I asked her to come, and we’d been trying to set this up ever since.”

Crowley made a name for herself when she served as former President Richard Nixon’s Foreign Policy Assistant from 1990 until the former president’s death in 1994. She then became known for her position on Fox News as a foreign affairs and political analyst, her work on MSNBC’s Connected: Coast to Coast and Fox’s The McLaughlin Group. She has also had her work printed in publications such as The New Yorker and the Wall Street Journal. She currently runs her own radio talk show, The Monica Crowley Show.

“She’s great,” said Scott Diamond, who ran for New York State Assembly in 2010. “She’s a believer and she gets her point across extremely well.”

“She’s awesome,” said Michael Henry, president of the Touro Law School chapter. “She’s very personable, very gracious.”

After an introduction by Zummo, Crowley spoke to the audience about the stance she makes in her book regarding the Obama administration, why and how she believed the American public could fix it. She also did a brief Q&A session and a signing for her book, which was also on sale at the event.

“It’s important that we have conservatives out there speaking and teaching,” said Virginia Daly, a member of the Long Beach Tea Party who came out to hear Crowley speak.

“She’s good,” said Frank Scaturro, who is currently running for Congress. “She’s probably one of the top 10, definitely top 20, talk show hosts.”

For Crowley, the chance to speak to such a supportive crowd was gratifying.

“This was a fantastic experience for me,” she said. “I’m glad we were finally able to get this together. Everyone here was great, they’re all true American patriots.”
