Girl Scouts Receive Community Service Project Awards

Girl scouts from Mineola, Williston Park, East Williston and Albertson receive their awards.

Last Friday night girl scouts from Mineola and the surrounding villages came together to receive their community service awards for the year at the . Numerous poster boards were on display for residents to see what service projects the girl scouts tackled and how each was completed.

There was a range in age in the girl scouts, but all wore their many badges proudly on their vest or sash.

In addition to family members who were present to support the scouts, several local officials including Mineola , Williston Park Mayor Paul Ehrbar, East Williston Mayor David Tanner and deputy mayor Bonnie Parente came out to show support, presenting each scout with their particular award that night.

As each troop was called upon, each scout took turns presenting their specific community service project and their experiences pursuing its completion. Following the award ceremony, the girl scouts joined their families in the back for snacks and refreshments.
