2. 33rd Annual Thunderbird American Indian Mid-Summer Powwow

Where/When: Queens County Farm Museum, Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31. Intertribal Native American dance competitions performance times are: Friday 7:00pm - 10:00pm (Gates open at 6:00pm); Saturday 12:00noon - 5:00pm and 7:00pm - 10:00pm (Gates open at 10:00am); Sunday 12:00noon - 5:00pm (Gates open at 10:00am)

Why Go: New York City 's oldest and largest powwow will feature three days of intertribal Native American dance competitions. Over 40 Indian nations are represented at this spectacular event held in the apple orchard on the farm grounds. A large selection of quality Native American art, crafts, jewelry and foods are available.

Pricing: Adults $10.00 (all weekend pass $15.00); Children: $5.00 (age 12 and under, all weekend pass $7.00).

3. Our Lady Of Mercy Church 4th Annual Summer Fair

Where/When: Our Lady Of Mercy Church, Wednesday, July 27 through Friday, July 29 from 6:00pm - 11:00pm; Saturday, July 30 through Sunday, July 31 from 5:00pm - 11:00pm

Why Go: The Fourth Annual Our Lady Of Mercy Summer Fair features Rides By Newton, shows, games, food, live music, raffles, casino games and more!

Why Go: The American Red Cross wants summer to be fun and safe for all ages! Children ages 5-12 will learn about Water and Fire Safety, Basic First Aid and Disaster Preparedness. To help make it fun, there will be facepainting; interactive trivia and video games; as well as a scavenger hunt.
