We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK 

1. 

Where/When:  on Feb. 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Moms and daughters can stroll and shop at the many vendors, including jewelry, skin care, clothes, accessories and home goods merchants. All proceeds earned by The Key Club will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Pricing: Tickets purchased before event is $8 (at door $10).

2. 

Where/When: on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 1 and 3 p.m.
Why Go: Parents and kids join in this interactive “variety show,” which includes a diverse array of styles including rock, pop, country, reggae and even some show tunes. You’ll become the Big Bad Wolf and blow the house down, fix Rosie's wrong rhymes, test your skills with the Simon Sez Song and share a special moment with your loved ones singing "Love Is a Family."
Pricing: $4 with museum admission ($3 LICM members), $8 theater only.

3. 

Where/When: Mineola High School gym, Saturday at 5 p.m.
Why Go: This event will showcase 20 of the finest indoor colorguards and percussion ensembles from all over the Tri-State area in an incredible evening of artistry, music, performance and competition.
Pricing: $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for students, children and Seniors.

4. 

Where/When: Long Island Children's Museum weekly on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Children can participate in a series of activities and experiments that are based on the popular PBS series Cyberchase! 
Pricing: Free with museum admission.

5.

Where/When: Nassau County Museum of Art, Sunday, February 13 at 1 p.m.
Why Go: There's a 1 p.m. docent-led family walk-through of the exhibition and, beginning at 1:30 p.m., supervised art activities for the whole family. Special family guides of the main exhibition are available in the galleries.
