We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK 

1. 

Where/When: , Friday, Feb. 18 at 4:00 p.m.

Why Go: Chaminade vs. St. John the Baptist. Perfect for children and families who love sports or are interested in exposing kids to the athletic world.

Pricing: Free

2. 

Where/When: Weekly at  from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Why Go: Children can explore this unique exhibit featuring interactive puzzle art created by Alli Berman. Brightly colored, highly textured, fully interactive and lots of FUN! Art will come alive right in front of your eyes!
Pricing: Free with museum admission ($10 for adults and children over 1 year old, $9 seniors, free to museum members and children under 1 year old).

3. 

Where/When: The Cupcake Corner in Garden City every Saturday and Sunday through March 27 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Children can create fish faces, owls, butterflies, St. Patrick's Day themed crafts, and more. 
Pricing: Free

4. 

Where/When: The on Saturday, February 19 at 3 pm. 
Why Go: Children can make a mask out of fun materials, listen to traditional Lion Dance music, and march through the Museum!
Pricing: $3 with museum admission ($2 LICM members). Museum admission ($10 for adults and children over 1 year old, $9 seniors, free to museum members and children under 1 year old).

5.  The Harlem Globetrotters

Where/When: Nassau Coliseum, Sunday, February 20 at 1 and 6 pm.
Why Go: For 84 tremendous years, the Harlem Globetrotters have thrilled audiences around the world. Experience special tricks and magical fun first hand.
