We’ve assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

You’re time-pressed enough, so we’re happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: , Weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.

Why Go: Have fun creating a basket full of beautiful blooming flowers using cut paper and other exciting materials. 

Pricing: Free with museum admission

2. Mother’s Day Floral Bouquet Workshop

Where/When: Old Westbury Gardens, Friday, May 6 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Why Go: Using fresh flowers and modern design techniques, children will enjoy this hands-on program to create a one of a kind gift straight from the heart. This is an all weather indoor event. Ages 6–10. Registration required.

Pricing: $10.00 per child; $5.00 Members.

Where/When: , Saturday, May 7 and 14 and Sunday, May 15 at 12:30 and 3 p.m. 

Why Go: This production is a cheerful romp from a child’s perspective as every page comes to life. 

Pricing: $8 with museum admission ($6 for LICM Members) and $12 theater only. Group tickets are $7 per person.

Where/When: , Saturday, May 7 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy a reading of the children's classic, “Go, Dog, Go” then create a silly party hat that will make big dogs and little dogs everywhere say, “What a hat!” 

Pricing: Free with museum admission.

5.  Local Sporting Events
