Here are the best bets families can go to and have fun this weekend.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: , Darby Auditorium; Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26 at 8:15 pm.

Why Go: It has a family-friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music.

Pricing: $5 per ticket

2. Mineola High School Varsity Lacrosse

Where/When:  versus Island Trees at on Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m. and  versus Great Neck North at also on Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m.

Why Go: Perfect for children and families who love sports or are interested in exposing kids to the athletic world.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: , Saturday, March 26 at 11 a.m.

Why Go: “Dan Zanes and Friends” uses an array of folksy instruments, including an accordion, mandolin, guitar and others to get people in the mood to dance and sing along with the catchy, kid-friendly tunes.

Pricing: $35

Where/When: ; Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27 from 2 - 3 p.m.

Why Go: Koral’s celebrations of the first day of school, best friends, colors and the “Big Sounds” of a fire truck and train are sure to please all ages!

Pricing: $4 with museum admission ($3 LICM members), $8 theater only.

Where/When: ; Sunday, March 27 from 1 - 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Discover the amazing lives and natural history of insects, spiders and other creepy crawly creatures. Create fun insect crafts, participate in activity challenges and even enjoy a tasty treat made with edible insects!

Pricing: Free with museum admission ($10 for adults and children over 1 year old, $9 seniors, free to museum members and children under 1 year old).

Where/When: , March 25, at 7:30 p.m., March 26 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: The classic Broadway musical comes to the Mineola High School, come and see the romance between Nathan Detroit and Adelaide and classic tunes including “Sit Down You're Rockin’ the Boat” and “Luck, Be a Lady.”

Pricing: Tickets are $9 in advance and $10 at the door.
