You’re time-pressed enough, so we’re happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: , 230 Liberty Ave., Tuesday - Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Monday 2 to 9 p.m.

Why Go: A fun way to cool off on a hot day. Always a great time for the entire family. 

Pricing: Membership open to residents only and their guests

2. Family Nature Hike

Where/When:  Saturday, June 25, 10 to 11 a.m.

Why Go: Celebrate spring with a guided hike on the preserve and see what’s coming alive.

Pricing: $5

3. Midsummer Night Concert

Where/When: Old Westbury Gardens, Saturday, June 25, 6 to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner, relax, and enjoy musical and dance performances throughout the grounds.

Pricing: $15; $12 in advance; free children 17 and under when accompanied by an adult

4. Salute to Veterans, Concert and Fireworks

Where/When: Town Park, Point Lookout, Saturday, June 25 7:30 pm

Why Go: The Annual Independence Salute starring Blood, Sweat & Tears along with Bay Fireworks and a salute to heroic veterans

Pricing: Free

Where/When: SUNY Old Westbury, Sunday, June 26, 2:30 - 6 p.m.

Why Go: This championship polo tradition raises funds to support academic and programmatic enhancements at the college. It will be an action-packed afternoon full of entertainment.

Pricing: Tickets are $95 per person, with children under the age of 12 admitted at no charge.
