Ink Company CEO Got Start 50 Years Ago in Mineola

Joe Bendowski celebrates golden anniversary at Van Son Holland Ink.

To the graduating class of 2012, spending 50 years with the same company might seem like a ludicrous idea – many are expected to have a total of 5 different careers through their working lives on average.

That makes Joe Bendowski’s story that much more remarkable. The CEO of the Van Son Holland Ink Corporation recently celebrated his golden anniversary with the company, having started as a stockboy in the company’s Mineola office on Union Street while attending St. John’s University.

…rose through the company ranks to become President in 1994, CEO in 2010 and was instrumental in proactively developing and navigating the company’s strategy for expanding the business throughout the evolution of the industry including a leadership position in the commercial print market.

He also saw the integration of rubber-based ink, acrylic and previously held the titles of sales representative, national dealer sales manager, and vice president dealer sales for USA and company president. A celebration was held for Bendowski on April 27.
