VIDEO: McKevitt Holds Honor Ceremony for Local Vets

Twelve local veterans presented with citations for service in and out of armed forces.

New York State , R-East Meadow, honored 12 veterans this past Thursday night at the . The veterans were from throughout the 17th Assembly District, including the communities of Mineola, New Hyde Park, Garden City Park, Williston Park, Garden City, East Meadow and Bellmore.

As each of the men had their biographies read aloud, McKevitt presented each of the men with a citation for both their service in the armed forces and as a respected member of their communities.

The veterans and their respective communities include:

  • Gerard Barbosa – East Meadow
  • Charles Boyd – Williston Park
  • John DaVanzo – Mineola
  • Leonard Fabrizio – North Bellmore
  • Manny Grillo – Mineola
  • Robert Kohler – North Bellmore
  • John Lawless – Williston Park
  • George Lewis – Carle Place
  • Robert Thomas Riordan – Merrick
  • Robert Rudkin – Garden City
  • Stanley Sichel – New Hyde Park
  • William “Bill” Urianek – Mineola
  • Harry Wurth – Albertson
  • Thomas Arella – Garden City Park

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
