Mineola Fire Department Holds 2011 Officer Installation

Outgoing chief Robert Connelly and fallen firefighter Albert J. Maiolica Jr. honored at ceremony.

The recently held its officer installation dinner at the Woodlands Club House at the Oyster Bay Town Golf Course.

New officers for 2011 were sworn in, including new chief Joseph Pratt, First Assistant Jeffrey Clark, Second Assistant Leonard Schmitt, Wardens Brian Santosus, Louis Santosus, Mark Danielson, Richard Kotowski, Michael A. DeStefano and George Rowe.

Mineola , an ex-chief himself, had the honor of swearing in the new officers and personnel.

The officers also paid tribute to outgoing chief Robert Connelly, who received citations and awards for his service from many local officials, including the , Nassau County , and .

A special tribute was made in the memory of ex-lieutenant , who fell in the line of duty. Pratt presented the posthumous firefighter of the year award to Maiolica’s mother.
