Mineola Kiwanis Club Supports Winthrop’s Child Life Program

Kiwanis group donates $2,500 to hospital's child life program.

In a demonstration of their continued support of pediatric patients at , recently donated $2,500 to Winthrop’s Child Life Program.

The group, which has been a generous supporter of the hospital’s child life program, raised this money during various fundraising events throughout the year, including a highly successful annual golf outing. 

“We are deeply appreciative of the ongoing support of The Kiwanis Club of County Seat, Mineola, whose generosity has made – and will continue to make – a valuable impact on countless pediatric patients at Winthrop,” Dr. Warren Rosenfeld, Chairman of the Winthrop Department of Pediatrics said in a statement.

Winthrop’s Child Life Program helps child patients understand and cope with the hospital experience. Certified specialists utilize therapeutic play, arts and crafts, entertainment and playful education to ensure that the hospital experience is as stress-free as possible for children and their families and are available in the Hospital’s Pediatric Emergency Unit, the Cancer Center for Kids Outpatient Center, the Pediatric Specialty Center and the Hagedorn Pediatric Inpatient Center.
