Mineola Native Breaks Guinness Field Goal World Record

Craig Pinto kicks 1,000 field goals to benefit Celiac Disease.

Craig Pinto, Mineola native and executive director of the Kicking 4 Celiac Foundation, set the Guinness World Record for football field goals on October 10, 2010, kicking 717 pigskins through the goal posts to raise money to benefit Celiac disease research.

This year, Pinto shattered his own record by sending 1,000 field goals into the end zone in under 24 hours at Theodore Roosevelt Park’s new football field, located in Oyster Bay. Patch was on-hand to speak to Pinto about this year’s fundraising effort, including how he prepared, and what's to come in the future.
