MJFD Trip to Germany Day 3: Ich Bein Ein Berliner

Day three of the Mineola Junior Firefighters' 2011 trip to Germany.

On the third day of their as part of an exchange program with the Hamburg-Stellingen Junior Fire Department, the Mineola Junior Firefighters travelled to Berlin via the ICE (Inter-City Express) high-speed train.

Once in the German capital, the juniors met one of the German Parliament members, presenting him with a Mineola flag and joining him for lunch.

Following their visit to the Reichstag, the juniors visited several iconic places in the city including the Brandenburg Gate, the former site of the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie, the name given to the crossing point between East and West Germany used by the Allies during the Cold War.
