MJFD Trip to Germany Day 9: Farewell and a Flight
The final day of the Mineola Junior Firefighters' 2011 trip to Germany.
On the final day of their as part of an exchange program with the Hamburg-Stellingen Junior Fire Department, the Mineola Junior Firefighters were bid goodbye from their adoptive homes with a farewell party.
Several presentations were made to the Mineola Juniors on behalf of their German hosts. During the farewell party, Mineola Captain Michael Fernandes flexed his knowledge of the German language giving a speech in thanks to their hosts.
The trip concluded with a final farewell at the airport before the juniors boarded a 9 a.m. plane Monday back to the United States.
