No. 68 - Challenge a Chess Player

Show off your skills and compete against some of Long Island's ranked Chess players.

Since 1992 the has been providing local Mineola residents and neighbors with opportunities to attend tournaments and enjoy a centuries-old game. There are approximately 50 club members, many of which are nationally rated with the United States of Chess Federation.

On Monday nights, chess champs gather at the  to show off their skills and compete in weekly games and tournaments. New members are always welcome to challenge some of Long Island’s best chess minds.

You do not have to be a member to compete however, but the weekly cost is slightly higher for nonmembers. Kids can also compete on Monday nights in the youth division. There are fewer participants but the game is equally as competitive.
