Community Corner

No. 89 - Join the Mineola Golden Age Club

If you are over the age of 55, consider taking part in the senior community center group.

With more than 200 members, the has been providing entertainment and activities to residents 55 and older since 1968. These men and women have light snacks and beverages, talk amongst themselves and take part in the weekly activity.

Every week there is a special event in addition to the weekly routine. Past activities include Bingo, guest speakers and holiday parties. Each member also has the opportunity to participate in line dancing and receives a new exercise that can be done sitting down.

There have been new editions added to the 2011 club schedule including a painting class offered to members before the weekly meeting and a book club that will begin meeting once a month.
