No. 90 - Volunteer at Winthrop Hospital

Share your time by volunteering at Winthrop where you can make a difference.

There are never too many volunteers at in Mineola. Whether you are looking to help behind the scenes or on the floors with patients in just a short time you can make a difference.

Students age 14 through 18 can participate in the Junior Volunteers Program. This selective opportunity is available to students twice a year during recruitment in September and January.

In order to apply to become a volunteer, students need to obtain school working papers and attend an orientation. They have the opportunity to choose one department or rotate seasonally to have a chance to visit different departments.

People over the age of 18 can take advantage of the Senior Volunteer Program. This opportunity is not limited to a specific time and only requires an application and an interview to discuss personal goals.

Volunteers are given the chance to work at different departments answering questions at the information or surgical information desk, be on the floors with patients or do office or clerical work.
