Remembering Mineola Residents Lost on 9/11

Three residents perished in attacks on World Trade Center.

They were just going to their jobs that Tuesday morning, either at their desks or racing to the scene to save others. Fate brought them together on September 11, 2001, victims in the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Three residents of Mineola perished when the towers collapsed: Mitchel Scott Wallace, a State Supreme Court worker who was also a paramedic who rushed to the scene to help the injured, and Anthony Spataro and Christopher Dunne, employees at Marsh & McLennan on the 98th floor of Tower One.

A foundation was established in Dunne’s memory to help aid families of the victims of September 11.
