Recently the fourth and fifth grade WEBLOS level Cub Scouts from St Aidan’s Pack No. 221 were able to “Meet The Mayor” at the Mineola Village Hall for an evening of questions and answers with Mayor Scott Strauss.
The scouts were working on their citizen and government achievement. The mayor was very accommodating, speaking to the cubs about the virtues of scouting and his years of involvement in scouting.
Mayor Strauss spent time answering some of the cubs various questions about government, explaining his duties as mayor and discussing some of the tough decisions he has had to face since becoming the mayor of Mineola.
“It was a very engaging evening for the scouts,” assistant Cub Master Sean Burke said, thanking Strauss for his time, hospitality and your dedication to scouting.
