Winthrop employees are preparing to take the stage and unveil their hidden talents at the 2nd annual “Winthrop’s Talent Showcase.” Taking place on Thursday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Mineola High School, the event will feature a special performance by Robbie Rosen, former contestant on this season’s American Idol, who will also serve as a guest judge at this year’s event.
All proceeds will benefit Winthrop’s Child Life Program, through which specially trained Child Life Specialists help children understand and cope with hospitalization. The caring and highly
trained staff use therapeutic play, arts and crafts, entertainment and other diversions to ensure that the hospital experience is as stress-free as possible for children and their families. A vital
program across the full spectrum of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services at Winthrop, Child Life is supported in its entirety by philanthropic contributions.
