Harry Potter Fans Swamp Theaters for Final Film

Hundreds of Harry Potter fans line up at midnight to be first to see final film.

Hundreds of Harry Potter fans lined up on the side of the Loews Theater at Roosevelt Field late Thursday night for the midnight showings of the eighth and final installment of the 10 year old film series.

The line had gotten so long that it stretched around the corner all the way to J.C. Penny department store by 11 p.m. for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the second of a two-part installment to the finale of the series’ eight movies.

Some fans had shown up even earlier at 9 p.m. for a double feature showing of Parts 1 and 2 back-to-back, while others simply arrived at that time only to claim their spot in line to wait for the premiere of Part 2 at midnight.
