Bites Nearby: Jericho Eatery

Poised to leave its mark on the upscale deli scene is the new Jericho Eatery.

Co-owner Richard Silvestri describes Jericho Eatery as a kosher-style establishment serving prepared foods to eat in or for take out (plus catering).

Jericho Eatery – The deli offers a very wide assortment of salads, sandwiches, panini, wraps and hot and cold items. Chef Larry Moseley Jr. prepares two to three main dishes daily — perhaps white wine roasted chicken and shrimp scampi – and two soups (with chicken soup a must every day).

Of their 20 signature sandwiches there are Classic Italian (salami, pepperoni, ham, provolone, tomato, roaster pepper, red onion, lettuce and vinegar), the Cuban (toasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickle and Dijon mustard). The sandwiches are served on a roll, bagel, wheat, rye or white bread and include a side salad or chef-made chips and a pickle. The corned beef Reuben, they say, has become an instant favorite.
