Bites Nearby: Tasty Thai Food at SriPraPhai

Satellite location of Queens restaurant brings bold flavors to Williston Park.

A relatively new site along the north side of Hillside Avenue, SriPraPhai is an extension of a restaurant that already exists in Queens. While the family that owns this restaurant and another in Woodside hail from southern Thailand, the food represents all regions of the country.

Located at the northeast corner of Marcellus Road and Route 25B, the restaurant caters to diners of Thai cuisine with zingy lime green walls and delicious food.

SriPraPhai – the flavors at the restaurant are clear and bold. A favorite appetizer with customers is the cold papaya salad with shredded green papaya, cherry tomatoes, carrots, green beans, peanuts, lettuce, tiny dried shrimp and some chili to heat it up a bit. Drunken noodles are another popular dish.

Wide sautéed rice noodles are mixed with garlic, sweet red pepper, cherry tomatoes, chili, whole fresh basil leaves and ground meat of choice. When mangoes are in season, the sticky rice, mango and coconut milk dessert is a good choice.

The menu is extensive (with numerous vegetarian options).
