Chef’s Corner Holds Grand Opening in Mineola

Mayor, trustees and chamber members welcome newest restaurant to village.

Mineola’s newest restaurant, the , held it’s grand opening and ribbon cutting earlier this month.

Mineola  along with village trustee George Durham, village justice Hon. Robert Rosenthal and chamber member Roseanne Peritore cut the ribbon alongside owners Israel Aguilar and Maryellen Villata on December 7 before heading inside for a small taste of the fare offered at the establishment  on the small access road leading to Station Plaza.

The space was previously occupied by Mo’ Joe coffee house and offers food and a menu similar to Sarabeth’s Bakery in Manhattan – where Villalta and her business partner worked – and include sandwiches and brunch on weekends. All food would be homemade on the premises.

”They have great food, we stopped by and helped make them successful and I wish them great success here in Mineola,” Mayor Strauss said during the village board meeting later that night.

“I can recommend the Chef’s burger,” Trustee Durham said. “They gave us a couple samples and I can tell you it was a quality burger.”

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
