Empire National Bank Coming to Mineola

New bank branch to open in spring 2013.

Mineola is geting yet another bank branch in the Old County Road corridor.

Islandia-based Empire National Bank is planning on opening its first branch in Nassau County at the Benchmark building at 170 Old Country Road this year. Empire lists the suite address as 1W, which would be the current location of the Bank of America.

The bank has other locations in Islandia, Port Jefferson Station and Shirley.

Gold Coast Bank recently opened its first Nassau branch on the corner of Mineola Boulevard and Old Country Road.

“We expect to be open in the spring,” Empire Bank Chairman and CEO Douglas C. Manditch said in a release on the company’s fourth-quarter earnings report on Dec. 31, 2012. “We are excited to be expanding our footprint.”

The bank reported that its total assets were $438.4 million at the end of last year, a 29 percent increase over 2011. Net income for the year ended December 31, 2012 of $3.6 million, a decrease of $1.0 million from $4.6 million from 2011.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
