Flip Pizza in Mineola to Close

Mineola pizzeria set to shutter doors but closing date not yet announced.

Do you flip out when it comes to pizza? Many Mineola residents apparently are not when it comes to Flip Pizza, the pizzeria which opened its doors this past November, will probably be shutting its doors soon, according to Newsday.

One of the principal co-owners, Frank Blasi, recently sold his shares of the artisan pizzeria restaurant to brothers Cliff and Jonathan Magri, who also own a number of .

Blasi said it was just too difficult going back and forth between Westchester and Long Island several times a week. Both Blasi and Magri agreed that it was necessary to have someone knowledgeable and passionate about artisan pies on site, in order to educate the dining public about the genre.  Said Magri: ”People would ask for a slice and then request chicken on top of it.”

A closing date has not been set for the business.
