Hannon Hosts Small Biz Seminar at Hofstra

New York State Senator Kemp Hannon, R-Garden City, hosted a Hispanic Small Business Seminar at the Hofstra University Club in Uniondale to provide important information and tips for small business development and success.

"When we help our small businesses, we help create jobs and opportunities for everyone," said Nassau County Deputy Director of Minority Affairs Herb Flores, one of the presenters at the seminar. "People who came tonight will walk away with a much better idea of not only how to start a business, but how to succeed long term," continued Flores.

Other speakers included International Business Consultant Rev. Dr. Wilmer Estupinan and Joseph G. Gonzal, a member of the Comptroller's Audit Advisory Committee, a NYS Certified Public Accountant, and owner of an accounting and tax firm. Some of the topics included what you need to know about getting certified and registered with Nassau County Government to operate a business, how to develop a business plan, how an existing business can remain successful during these difficult economic times, and how to effectively finance a small business.

"It was great to see members of the community come to this important event," said Senator Hannon. "A crucial component of turning around this economy is ensuring the success of our small businesses," Hannon said.
