“Heavenly” Dessert on Jericho Turnpike

I was recently chatting with Mineola resident Justin Burke, asking him for recommendations of great dishes in Mineola.

Justifiably renowned for their barbeque dishes, Churrasqueira Bairrada is, I found out upon trying his recommendation, equally famous for natas do ceu, which means “heavenly cream.”

What’s In It: This typical Portuguese dessert layers a combination of heavy cream, sugar and egg whites with crushed vanilla flavored Maria Biscuits and tops it with more whipped cream.

How’s It Taste: Heavenly layers of lusciousness. The texture of the biscuits adds a nice crunch to this very smooth dessert.
