Mineola Credit Union Merges with Bethpage Federal

UFCW Local 342 Federal Credit Union joins with Bethpage membership.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union swelled its ranks by just over 2,000 members and its account holdings by over $5.6 million Monday after a merger with Mineola-based UFCW Local 342 Federal Credit Union was approved by the National Credit Union Administration.

UFCW Local 342 Federal Credit Union is a union-based $5.6 million credit union with 2,071 members with one location in Mineola at 166 East Jericho Turnpike.  According to a press release, all UFCW members gained access to Bethpage’s 26 branch network, 425 free ATMs, and product and service offerings at Bethpage as of July 1.

“This merger will allow former UFCW Local 342 Federal Credit Union members to enjoy greatly expanded convenience, value and financial services as members of the largest credit union in New York and Long Island,” Bethpage Federal Credit Union Senior Vice President Linda Armyn said in a statement. “Merging was an ideal fit for UFCW Local 342 Federal Credit Union which was seeking the best solution for its members to continue to offer the extraordinary value and services of a credit union, backed by the financial standing and support of Bethpage.”

The UFCW Local 342 Federal Credit Union branch in Mineola will be closing when the merger is complete. All members will be directed to the located at 131 Jericho Turnpike, or any of the other 25 locations across Long Island.
