New Entenmann’s Location Yet to Open

Stop work order from Town of North Hempstead issued for new bakery site.

Nearly three months after closing its doors at its old address in Mineola, the new Entenmann’s Bakery Outlet location in Carle Place on Glen Cove Road has yet to open its doors.

The bakery outlet store closed in Mineola around July 30, with a sign posted on the window that it would be moving to a new location at 211 Glen Cove Road in the TJ Maxx shopping plaza on the eastern side of Glen Cove Road.

The new location is an empty store that was the former home to a printing center, the signs of which still hang in the windows. No evidence of Entenmann’s moving to the location was visible in the windows or inside the store. No opening date for the new location has been announced.

Earlier in September a “stop work order” with a date of Aug. 28, 2013 from the North Hempstead Building Department was seen posted in the window of the Carle Place location.

Town of North Hempstead spokesperson Ryan Mulholland confirmed in an e-mail that a stop work order was issued “as the storeowners needed to file for a change of use permit as well as secure an electrical certificate.”

Mulholland said that the company has filed the permit “and when the building department inspector approves the applications the stop work order will be lifted.”

Requests for comment from Bimbo Bakeries USA, Entenmann’s parent company, were not immediately returned.
