New Owners of Mineola Diner Welcomed

Sen. Jack Martins cuts ceremonial ribbon at reopening.

New York State welcomed the two new owners of the this past Friday, helping to cut the ceremonial ribbon to reopen the restaurant, which was built in 1948.

Martins joined with the new owners of the restaurant, Michael Alpert and Shane Fritsche, wishing them success in making the diner an important part of the community.

“Diners have played an important part in Americana and since 1948, the Mineola Diner has been a integral part of this community,” he said, thanking both Alpert and Fritsche “for investing in this historical diner and helping keep this community in-touch with its past.”
