Poll: Vacant Blockbuster Video in Mineola

What would you like to see fill the vacant space left by Blockbuster?

For scores of Mineola residents, the store on Jericho Turnpike was a comfort zone to rent movie videos and browse new releases.

But when the parent company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 23, 2010 and was subsequently taken over at auction by the Dish Network, store closings by the hundreds soon followed.

The Blockbuster Video at 500 Jericho Turnpike was apparently one of those designated for closing, though was not among any of the stores recently listed for closing. The Mineola location shut its doors sometime around election day.
