Unique Italian Simply Done Right

Pasta Vino-unique food in a mellow, relaxed setting

Serving dishes that are not found in most Italian restaurants in the area is what separates PastaVino from the rest.  The staff is welcoming and friendly and truly accommodating to the customers needs.  If you're looking for a nice, romantic Italian meal in a comfortable setting, go no further then PastaVino, or as the Italians say, "Mangia!"

Pumpkin Ravioli ($17) and Mussels All' Arrabbita ($8) are popular main stays that are palate pleasing members of the Pasta Vino lineup.  Napa, Sonoma, and Italy are areas that are featured on the extensive wine list.

The restaurant has a diverse selection of food that is simply delicious, robust, and tongue tantalizing.  A Fresh Garden Salad ($6) is a colorful medley of mesculine lettuce, tomatoes, mandolin cucumbers, and red onions with a light dressing of Balsamic Vinaigrette; a simple yet delicious mix of nutritious greens and vegetables.  Mussels All' Arrabbita ($8) is sautéed in a light tomato stock with thinly sliced garlic, plum tomatoes and finished with a sprinkle of freshly chopped basil.  These mussels are spicy, bold and cleansing with a light fishy flavor that no way over powers the dish.  The flavors of each ingredient are truly delectable, combining and complimenting each other nicely.

Pumpkin Ravioli ($17) is an eclectic mix of cinnamon, pumpkin, ricotta cheese in a delicate light brown sauce.  As you bite through the pasta shell and come to the center of the ravioli you find a filing that makes you come back for more.  Chunks of pumpkin and broccoli rabe are nice additional items on the plate.  The Spaghetti and Little Meatballs ($16) is a classic that everyone can enjoy.  The noodles are cooked al dente and a slight snap can be felt as your teeth cut through.  The sauce is not heavy and but not light, it's viscosity is perfection.  The large chunks of stewed tomatoes give the sauce a hearty taste and a nice texture to the dish. The meatballs are seasoned beautifully with light hints of garlic and oregano.  They are so tender that cutting with a fork is done easily.

A decadent Tiramisu ($8) with an espresso ($3) is great ending to the meal.  As your spoon cuts through the layers of this dessert you reveal drenched ladyfingers, sweet cream and a coating of chocolate sauce, all topped by a dusting of coco and powdered sugar.  The dish is easily large enough for two, but sharing with others maybe difficult because after that first bite you will be diving in for more immediately.
