Feb. 20: President's Day, Best of and Now Hiring

Isn’t it great to wake up only to find that there’s no work on a Monday? Today we have our Presidents to thank for our day off from our jobs, despite not having the birthdays of George and Abe as separate celebrations (and holidays) anymore. Regardless, here’s to the 43 men who have led our country – they’ve earned a day (and so have we).

Here’s what else you need to know:

1. Today is President’s Day, a federal holiday. There is no mail delivery and all government buildings, libraries and schools are closed. This week will also have an alternate garbage pickup in the Village of Mineola.

2. It’s Monday and we once again have your local job roundup for Mineola in our weekly “Now Hiring” feature.

3. Do you have what it takes to be the best? Patch is launching a new series searching for the “Best of” in Mineola. This week we’re starting with chicken wings.
