March 5-6: Weekend Edition

Mineola is gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day in a big way this weekend with the annual parade and a special dance session at the Mineola Library. We’ve also got a couple of kids activities including one from members of the Ringling Bros. Circus.

Here’s what else you need to know: 

1. The 61st annual Mineola-Garden City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which will be held Sunday, March 6 with  leading the parade this year. The parade begins at 1 p.m. on Ninth Street and Franklin Avenue in Garden City. 

2. The  is getting into the Irish spirit with a  beginning at 2 p.m.

3. Members of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will be at the Long Island Children’s Museum Saturday for .

4. There’s an  at the Mineola Library about Portuguese ambassador Sousa Mendes, who helped refugees flee France during WWII. A  will be coming up later today on the Patch.

5. The Amazing Nano Brothers are bringing their comedy act to the Long Island Children’s Museum  and teach children physics in a fun way.
