May 2: Candidate Debate, Baseball and Kiwanis

Here are some of the events going on around Mineola.

Americans rejoiced last night with the announcement that Usama Bin Laden had been brought to justice by U.S. troops, his body buried at sea, nearly 10 years after the 9/11 attacks and bringing a small sense of relief to those families – especially across Long Island – who lost a loved one that Tuesday morning, including those from Mineola and the surrounding communities.

2. The Mineola Patch is looking for outspoken members of the Mineola community to chare their thoughts about the school budget and school board elections leading up to the May 17 vote. 3. The Mineola varsity baseball team will this afternoon. The series begins at Mineola High School at 4:45 p.m.

4. The Mineola Kiwanis Club will hold its  at the IHOP restaurant at the corner of Hillside Avenue and Willis Avenue.
