Mineola Residents Without Power in Heat Wave Saturday Night

At least 11 homes without power in village on Saturday night.

Reports indicate that several Mineola residents are currently without power during one of the hottest heat spells so far this year.

According to the LIPA Outage website, a total of 11 homes in Mineola are currently without power. A total of two crews have been assigned, one for an area where there are less than five homes out near Roslyn Road and another where there are 10 homes indicated as being without power just to the east of the first location.

The website indicates that crews estimate that power will be restored at about 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Temperatures in the Mineola area have been hovering at or above 90 degrees all week, with the high on Saturday hitting 96 degrees according to the Weather Channel.

UPDATE: 12 a.m.: THe LIPA website now only indicates one crew in the area and that there are 10 homes without power in Mineola.
