Weather Alert Issued as Thunderstorms, Hail Approach Area

National Weather Service says small hail and up to 50 mph winds expected.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather alert for Nassau County, Wednesday.

According to the alert, "satellite imagery and National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated that thunderstorms were rapidly developing near (Central Nassau) and moving east at 5 mph."

Small hail and gusty winds up to 50 mph are expected with these storms. Severe weather might also cause minor flooding of poor drainage areas and reduced visibility.

Nassau County Police issued the following traffic advisory:

Due to the weather conditions drivers are advised to use caution while traveling. Periodic intense downfalls of rain are causing flooding and accumulating pooling of water along roadways. Motorists should be advised not to drive through standing water on roadways.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
