Thanking supporters and promising a considerate approach to town government during her victory speech in Westbury on Tuesday, newly-elected North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth said she hopes to improve on the future by continuing with successes of the past.

The three-term Nassau County Legislator from Great Neck defeated Republican Town Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio of Port Washington by a wide margin to win a first term as supervisor.

Bosworth said the 2013 election was about the future of town government where everybody will a have "seat at the table" in an effort to make sure that people's view points are respected and listened to. Promising to continue to make the quality of life in North Hempstead what it is, Bosworth said all viewpoints should be considered.

"We're going to do it together and we are going to do it in a way that makes us all proud," said Bosworth.

Running on the accomplishments of former Supervisor Jon Kaiman who resigned earlier this year, Bosworth become the second woman to win a supervisor seat in North Hempstead.

"Jon made it possible for us to do a campaign that we could be proud of," said Bosworth. "We could run on all of the strengths of the town, and we did, and that's why we won."
