“Spirit and Identity: Melanesian Works from the Hofstra University Museum Collections” Exhibition Reception and Curator’s Talk

Join us at the exhibition reception and curator’s talk for the exhibition “Spirit and Identity: Melanesian Works from the Hofstra University Museum Collections”. This original exhibition showcases, for the first time, an extraordinary aspect of the HUM collections, offering a range of ethnographic artworks and objects created by members of the distinct regional communities of the South Pacific. Works feature ancestral figures, ceremonial masks, warrior shields, and ritualized practical objects crafted from natural materials.
