Good News: Buddy Gets a Swing

One-and-a-half-year-old Buddy Abrams can now enjoy swinging all-year round.

At the urging of his mother, Wendy, the Village of Rockville Centre has installed a swing that is accessible to children with special needs, which was officially unveiled on Monday. Buddy was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, a type of cancer, on his brain stem, which causes a failure to thrive and a loss of the use of his limbs. Watch the video here.

Cub Scouts Raise Money in Massapequa

The blue and gold were out in full force at IGA last weekend. Cub Scouts from Pack 696 set up shop outside of the store as part of their annual popcorn sale. It's the boys' equivalent to girl scout cookie sales and it was a success. The scouts raised $600 which will go to fall and winter activities. Read the full story here.

Nassau Decorates with Flags for Vets

Kellenberg Athletes Help Coach New Hyde Park Special Needs Soccer Players

Members of the Kellenberg Memorial High School Varsity Soccer team recently visited a special needs soccer program in New Hyde Park on Oct. 19, practicing with the athletes of the TOP Soccer program as they have done for the past six seasons.
