Harness the Healing Power of Reiki

Reiki is an ancient healing technique that works on a person’s energy system to help restore balance and healing.

The term Reiki stems from the Japanese rei meaning universal or intelligent, and ki for energy. During a Reiki session, the practitioner lightly places his or her hands over or on areas of the clothed body.  The energy flows to where it is needed which is particularly beneficial in supporting blocked or diminished regions thus promoting a sense of harmony, alignment and relaxation on all levels.

Reiki’s therapeutic benefits are being recognized in the mainstream.  As such, it is being incorporated into traditional healing practices.  For example, Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centerand  New York Presbyterian hospitals offer reiki as a complementary treatment for certain patients.  The well known cardiologist, Dr. Mehmet Oz, who directs the  Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital, has stated that he has incorporated reiki into the operating room.

Reiki is a gift that is easy to learn.  It is beneficial not only to oneself, but can be shared to help bring healing and balance to others.

A Reiki I class will take place on Saturday, October 26th, led by Isabel Martin-Ventura, Reiki Master since 1997.
